The term 'prehistoric' generally refers to the time period between use of the first stone tools by humans and the invention of writing systems, and this varies in different parts of the world.
Stone age the creatures (hominids and then humans) made. Ample findings and dating. Until invention of iron tools.
The oldest known writing systems appeared about 5,000 years ago.

Moon buggy, airplanes, picture flashing across globe instantly from a band on wrist, etc.
No time limit. Just know it's old.

The spirit of God was hovering over the waters (as steam began condensing) – God was giving special attention to planet earth because he planned to do something special here.
Big issue for many Christians who think everything perfect and no death before the fall.
But some issues:
Dinosaurs. Lots of high quality bones. No evidence that they lived at same time as humans. Therefore, animal death before humans.
Earth went through great trauma in creation. Not a paradise.
Jericho man and others. 9,500 years. Found Israel? Longer than Bible genealogy to Jesus (about 4,000 years) and then to us (about 6,000 years).
Could be that paradise was just the Garden of Eden, not the whole earth. Curse was just to garden, making it like all rest of earth.
